The film is a short story of a man in loss. As their website explains, "Moonshine is a thriller about a man dealing with the death of his wife. The background story is a traveling Scottish photographer, Colin, falls in love with an African American, New York Ballet dancer named Molly. When Molly gets a scholarship for a performance art school
in Los Angeles, Colin convinces her that they should drive from New York to California, that way she can enjoy sights of her country that she’s never seen before. But when they arrive in Tennessee, things take a turn for the worse. Molly goes missing and is later claimed by the people of Hixsen Tennessee to have been killed in a car accident. But after doing much investigation, Colin finds that the evidence just doesn’t match up".
