A GOOD PERFORMANCE BY BOTH CANDIDATES.

As reaction to the first National debate between the candidates for the next presidency of the United States of America begin to flow in, many as well as I feel that they both did a very good job. As debates go, this one has to one of the best I have ever seen. I feel now that this country will be in good hands regardless of who is sworn into office.

Although it appears that Sen. McCain did better than expected, just as Sen. Obama did not as well as expected, the overall consensus this soon after the first debate was refreshing break from the politics and negative advertising that has been offered by both campaigns.

Hosted by the experienced journalist Jim Lehrer of the Public Broadcasting's leading nightly new show, The News Hour Jim Lehrer, the maturity and issue base contact stands in string contrast to the major networks desire to drift towards questions that have nothing to do with policy or the future of the country, but may get high ratings.

It was in fact refreshing to see two excellent candidates discuss their views in an open, well moderated, and unbiased forum.
